Going, Going, Gone
O David entrou em contacto comigo no Instagram e disse-me que gostava de um dia me fotografar. Sendo ele natural da minha terra mãe combinámos então encontrarmo-nos da próxima vez que fosse até ao sul de Portugal, e assim foi. Eu tenho esta relação de amor/ódio com a internet. Há alturas em que acho que as redes sociais são uma invenção incrível e outras em que me cansa a contagem dos likes e a necessidade que se instalou em documentar tudo o que nos acontece. Mas desta vez estou muito grata pelo facto de a internet me ter proporcionado este encontro feliz com o David e a Sara, sua esposa, que, para além de excelentes profissionais, são também excelentes pessoas e, agora, meus amigos para a vida.
Encontrar a luz ideal é realmente o segredo para uma sessão fotográfica bonita, é por isso que o David só fotografa para lá das seis da tarde, quando o astro rei começa a roçar a linha do horizonte. Como podem calcular eu não obstinei contra o facto da sessão ser ao final do dia até porque assim pude passar o dia na praia que, nesta altura do ano, ainda se encontra praticamente deserta.
Com o cabelo ainda ondulado pela água do mar meti-me num vestido esvoaçante da Bec+Bridge com um padrão estrelado que dispensa a utilização de muitos acessórios. Lembram-se de eu dizer que não gostava de padrões? Pois, parece que menti, neste caso as minúsculas estrelas que cobrem o tecido dão-lhe um ar amoroso. Foi assim que, descalça sentindo os pés mergulhar na areia, caminhei até às dunas cor de sangue que limitam a Praia da Falésia e deixei que o David, através da sua lente, me capturasse a alma.
David had contacted me on Instagram and told me he would like to, one day, photograph me. Because David is from my motherland, the Algarve, we agreed on meeting next time I was in the south of Portugal. I have this love/hate relationship with the internet. I think social media is an incredible invention but I also get a bit tired of the race for likes and the need to document everything in little detail. I must confess that on this occasion I feel very grateful for the internet because it gave me the chance to meet David and Sara, his wife, who, besides being excellent professionals, are also excellent people and now my friends for life.
Finding the ideal light is really the secret to a beautiful photoshoot, which is why David only photographs past six o'clock in the afternoon when the king star begins to graze the horizon line. As you can imagine I didn't obstinate against the fact that the session was at the end of the day. In fact I was able to spend the day at the beach, which at this time of the year is still practically deserted.
With my hair still rippled due to the salty sea water, I got into a Bec+Bridge fluttering dress with a starry pattern. Do you remember me saying that I didn't like patterns? Apparently I lied, in this case I think the tiny stars that cover the fabric give an adorable touch to the dress. Once I was dressed I walked, barefoot, feeling my feet soaking in the sand, to the blood-colored dunes that border Praia da Falésia and let David, through his lens, capture my soul.
